UA Opera's Dialogues of the Carmelites

While the Arizona Opera season ends with La cenerentola, there is still great live opera in Tucson this month. The University of Arizona Opera Theater is staging Dialogues of the Carmelites, in English with supertitles, on Friday, April 7, at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 9, at 3:00pm. Mary Duncan is the stage director, and Thomas Cockrell conducts.

The drama takes place during the  French Revolution; its finale is one of the most chilling moments in all opera.

The large cast includes many singers familiar to OGSA members from Quest for the Best and our opera previews. Portraying Carmelite sisters are Abigail Hart (Friday), Ariana Iñiguez (Sunday), Piper Pack-Smith, Clara Salomon (Fri.), Soleil Oliva (Sun.), Samantha Luna, Samantha Hornback (Fri.), and Michelle Perrier (Sun.).
View the press release with the full cast, plot synopsis, and more. Get tickets by calling the box office (520-621-1162) or online.

Don't Forget the OGSA Member Party April 23

Our annual meeting and party will take place Sunday, April 23rd, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. After a very brief meeting to elect our second and third vice-presidents and recording secretary, winners from Quest for the Best will sing, and there will be delicious appetizers, drinks, and desserts. The Membership party is free, and open to members and their guests.
