About the Opera Guild Of Southern Arizona
The Opera Guild was founded in 1958, and incorporated in 1962, to cultivate a wider public interest in opera, to further music education and appreciation, and to present operatic programs and activities.
The OPERA GUILD OF SOUTHERN ARIZONA provides:
Scholarships, prizes, and grants to voice students. Since 1958 this financial aid has totaled more than $400,000.
The OPERA GUILD also offers to the community:
Quest for the Best, our annual voice competition and reception, providing young singers the experience of performing for a live audience and competing for cash prizes.
Brown Bag Opera, noontime previews of productions of the Arizona Opera Company, featuring young local singers, free and open to the public. Bring your own lunch. Home-baked goodies, coffee and tea are provided.
Say Hello to Opera, free public previews of Arizona Opera Company productions, featuring young local singers.
Activities for members include opera tours and our annual membership event, an opportunity to mix with fellow members and hear some of our young talent.
